Pastor Laurie Johnson was called to serve
First Lutheran in October 2007. She enjoys
the home-town spirit of the Willapa Harbor
area, and is inspired to be a part of a smaller yet thriving congregation that is rediscovering and redefining its ministry in the greater community.
Prior to accepting the call here, Pastor Laurie served congregations in the Philadelphia suburbs and on Whibdey Island in the state of Washington in the north Puget Sound.
She was raised in New Jersey and spent much of her adult life in the East. She completed her masters degree at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, and also holds degrees in sociology and business admininstration and finance.
Laurie and her husband Gary have been married since August 2003, and they are blessed to have his mother, Opal, living with them. They also share their home with Opal's dog Foxie (a schipperke) and two cats, Martin and Trinity (both rescues).
